Orthopedics deals with bones, joints, muscles, and ligaments. Orthopedics can include but is not limited to:

- Fractures
- Dislocations

How Do We Diagnose an Orthopedic Problem?
The most important tools in diagnosis are a physical examination and X-rays. Occasionally, a CT scan and blood work may be required.
How Do You Know if Your Pet Has an Orthopedic Problem?
You’ll need to bring him in for an exam and X-rays to be sure, but there are some tell-tale signs, such as:
- Abnormal appearance of a leg
- Difficulty getting up
- Favoring a leg
- General slowing down
- Sudden limping or pain accompanied by swelling
If you observe any of these signs in your pet, it’s time to make an appointment.
