“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!”
This old rule applies to animals as well as to humans. Since even your exceptionally intelligent and gifted pet is limited in her ability to take preventive measures for her health, it’s up to you. Here’s what we recommend at Angel Ridge Veterinary Service:
Annual Examinations
Examinations are critical to finding and treating disease early. We recommend that all pets be examined by a veterinarian at least annually.
Senior Examinations
Since pets age about seven times faster than humans, we recommend that older pets (7+ years) receive an examination with blood work every 6-12 months. Blood work for seniors may include urinalysis, kidney and liver functions, complete blood cell counts, and thyroid functioning.
